Do you know someone who has problems with acid blood? What you drink can have a big impact on your blood pH level.
Why should you care about blood pH? Our bodies are designed to live happy and healthy in a narrow, slightly alkaline pH range. If we get much outside of that range we start to get sick, develop chronic problems, and will eventually die if we don’t correct it quickly.
I read an interesting article recently about Candida overgrowth. Candida is a yeast that lives in our digestive tracts and we do just fine with it there because it is kept in check by other bacteria that also live there. Sometimes it can get out of control when we take antibiotics, which kill the good bacteria that keep the candida in check, and/or eat too much sugar, which causes it to grow out of control. This is “candida overgrowth”. When out of balance, the candida will cause you to crave sugar and will sap your energy so that you always feel tired among other things.
I spent 4 days at a qigong workshop and really enjoyed it. The emphasis was on the healing aspects of qigong but I want to talk about the exercise benefits. From watching us move through the forms you wouldn’t think it was much exercise, but you would be wrong. The movements are slow which takes a lot of control. Your arms are held out at either chest height or above your head for an extended period of time, which takes a lot of endurance. Our instructor joked about how big guys who spend a lot of time working out have a hard time keeping their arms up. Working through the forms of qigong will help you build up your endurance and work on muscles that you don’t normally pay attention to.

Proper nutrition will help you to stay fit and healthy with plenty of energy to do the things you want to do. Good nutrition goes deeper though.
